Shakespeare in the Woods 2013 A Twelfth Night Adventure (Ages 12-18)
Date: June 24th-28th with a final performance on June 28th
Event: For five days eleven students came together and dove into the play Twelfth Night.  And on Friday evening they presented a thirty minute version for friends and family.  A special Thanks to Paul and Isaac Ward who constructed a stage for us to use.

Shakespeare's Women presented by Amiche 
Date: June 22, 2013
Time: Pizza 6:30-7:30PM and Performance of Shakespeare's Women at 7:45PM
Event: We had a wonderfully unique evening filled with a mosaic of art that doesn't often get seen together.  We started the evening off with Pizza made by Dave and Candy Carleton followed by our first performance of Shakespeare's Women, presented by Amiche.  Shakespeare's Women is a piece that melds together some of Shakespeare's most famous female characters and brings them to life through monologues, opera, movement, and more.   You can learn more about Amiche here:  Amiche.org


Under the Stars: A Celebration of Freedom and Hope
Date: July 20th
Event: The evening started with pizza made my Dave and Candy Carleton and was followed with a half hour performance combining the work of four artists. During this time representatives from the Southwestern Pennsylvania Anti-Human Trafficking Coalition spoke about the work they are doing in the area as well as ways the local community can help. To end the evening audience members were able to purchase art items donated by artists. We had a generous audience of about 50 people of all ages who raised $1,239 dollars that went to the International Justice Mission and Restore International. Thanks to a great audience, the many generous artists, and all the people who made this event a successful evening. 

Shakespeare in the Woods High School Week
Date: June 25-29th

Movement Workshop
Date: Jan 26th, 7:00-8:30PM
Event: Moving in Freedom 

Material Covered: Sections from Isaiah and 2 Corinthians were used to look into the themes of Freedom in the Bible. We had a great mix of people and ages and I'm thankful for the women who came and took the risk to try something new.


Movement Workshop

Material Covered:  Using Matthew 5 we looked at the way the Beatitudes describes God's kingdom as upside down compared to how we view the world. Event: For a week seven middle schoolers came together and studied Shakespeare. We had a delightful week of learning lines, playing acting games, eating marshmallows, and working hard. The week ended with a performance held for friends and family.

Movement Workshop

Event: Exploring Movement and the Christian Faith
led by Sarah Carleton & Kayla Haberern

Material CoveredOver the course of three evenings we explored issues of the Christian faith through the avenue of movement. Each workshop had a specific theme that built on ideas from the previous workshop. The evenings three themes included Suffering, Grace, and Practicing Resurrection.
