In the Fall of 2019 I put together a journal with prompts and exercise that was a reflection of my 10 year journey past grad school as an actor and creator. Many of the ideas are ones I’ve worked on in classes or explored in my own work. And on March 16th, 2020 I decided to walk through the journal on Instagram in light of Covid-19. You can listen to my reflections and thoughts here:

For the time being I’m keeping the journal free and you can download a digitial copy and print out hte pages or keep them on your device and journal in a seperate space. The entries can be adjusted to various ages and experiences, though the focus is on adults and actors.

If you have funds at this time please consider donating to Preemptive Love or one of the following places as we come together as a world against this virus. During this time when the tragic and silly are highlighted more than normal I hope this journal gives you some space to reflect on what kind of actor or creativ eyou want to be moving forward and encourages you to feel a sense of agency when it comes to your own journey and creating in a world htat needs your voice.

A Seriously Silly Actor Journal
Sale Price: $0.00 Original Price: $4.99

In my own journey as an actor, I often think about being a kid with a vivid imagination that saw monsters under the bed and told elaborate stories with my stuffed animals. This journal is inspired by those adventures and my journey as a creative and actor. There are lots of ways to use this journal. Take one of the days from the journal as a prompt for a day you are feeling stuck. Or start the year off with a prompt for each day of the month of January. You can print out this journal and write on each page or use the prompts and keep your responses in a separate journal. My hope is that however you choose to use this journal you find time to remember what you love about acting and are reminded of the silly and serious work that being an actor can be. - Sarah Carleton
