Twelfth Night In Brief
Twelfth Night In Brief
The following script was originally created for a camp for high school aged students. The shortened version allows students the ability to work with the script and become familiar with Shakespeare’s work, without the pressure of performing the whole play. Depending on the students experience and level, there are opportunities to double up roles or give each student a specific role. The performance runs about 45 minutes in length. Minimal costume pieces and props can allow for quick transitions and character changes, if needed.
The script contains all original text by William Shakespeare, edited by Sarah Carleton into this shortened version. In addition to the text, there are ideas about how to double the cast and some blocking suggestions to help with the flow of the performance.
If you plan to perform this piece for an audience, please consider providing a link to my website (sarahbcarleton.com) in your program or promotional materials. A lot of time was put into editing this script, and your purchase enables me to continue creating. If you enjoy the script, I hope you will consider sharing it with others educators and performers who might also find it of interest.
Thanks - Sarah
